This not only avoids stress and exhaustion on your part, but it should also mean that you will be able to mark more accurately and reliably. We have also mentioned the need to consider marking time when choosing test formats. With very small classes we can afford to have more labour-intensive test formats (for example open compositions and oral interviews). If we have very large classes we will need to choose formats that will enable us to mark large numbers of tests in a short period of time (like multiple choice questions).
